After creating the Mondriaans (see also Trace of Life: Making of) we were both quite astounded by the beauty it radiated. Beauty of subject, balance, colours, sequence…  Many of our creations were a start of something bigger, so also Mondriaan Dreams.

Our question was “If this is so beautiful… what else can we expand this into to find more beauty?”
The Trace of Life project is the answer.

Are there more 2, 3 or 4 colour combinations possible? Undoubtedly, especially in this day and age with computer assistance…
Are combinations possible, other then in our collection, beautiful? No.

Trace of life is the ultimate art project combining form, function and the beauty of colour combinations.
For every final work in this series, 10 possible variations were considered, weighted, judged and ultimately discarded. For every possible variation many, some even slight, differences in colour were discarded.
Many basic colour combinations were discarded outright as not being beautiful.

The Trace of Life final outcome might surprise you.
One of our driving considerations was to create for anybody´s taste or colour preferences, and any interior, whether private or public.

As far as we know, there is no other art project ever created in the world which offers such a distinctive variety and abundance in colours: art is not made in black, grey tones, conflicting colours, white, brown, orange, shocking pink… in one collection!
